Dr. Katja Fennel (Canada) holds a Canada Research Chair in Marine Prediction and is Associate Professor in the Department of Oceanography at Dalhousie University in Halifax. She is the lead researcher in the Marine Environmental Modeling Group at Dalhousie University, which focuses on the development and application of realistic numerical models of coastal ecosystems with the ultimate goal of advancing our ability to predict changes in marine environments in response to climate variability and direct human influences. She also holds adjunct appointments at the University of Maryland and the University of Maine. She has published widely in the area marine biogeochemical cycling of carbon, nitrogen and oxygen.
